ISWS funding continued to finance a local social worker as a leader for a virtual support group that includes 11 mothers in the Food Service Delivery Program. Each support group session typically lasts two hours. Topics discussed may be issues such as single motherhood, business/entrepreneurship, stress management, coping with anxiety/depression, how to ask for help, sharing personal stories/processing, healthy lifestyle choices, i.e., sleep, diet, self-care, goal-setting, and emotional support/community building.
The addition of this social worker has had the immediate benefit of giving the FSD women a dedicated point person to support them in their businesses and psychosocial care needs. The creation of this position ensured the FSD women have the support they need to be successful.
